Dr Gerry Skinner BSc BVSc PhD MRCVS MANZCVS (ECC)
Gerry Skinner is the founder of the Rabbit Doctors and since its creation the group has gone from strength to strength! She has been involved in the rabbit world all her life, and has been treating them as vet surgeon both in the UK and Australia for over 14 years. She qualified from Bristol in the UK in 2003 after switching careers from archaeology and never looked back!
After initial exotics training in the UK she moved to Australia over a decade ago and kept emergency and critical care as her main clinical interest, gaining memberships in ECC and she managed a large Emergency Centre for several years. In 2014 Dr Gerry pursued her dream and opened her own clinic providing 24/7 Melbourne wide “gold” standard care for rabbits. Her special interests include emergency and critical care and gastrointestinal diseases in rabbits. She currently has 9 house rabbits of her own – Jeremy, Apricot, Molly, Jemima, Pablo, Beatrice, Maxi, Alaska and Nine!

Dr Ruby Ivanov BVSc
Ruby has always been interested in the science of health and disease. She graduated veterinary school in 2013, after an earlier career in human health research. Since becoming a vet, she has spent her time working with families to help keep their pets happy and healthy, understanding that these relationships are good for both pets and pet parents. She has been a lover of rabbits since a young age and as a veterinarian, has taken every opportunity to work with bunnies, as she enjoys the medical challenges they provide. Ruby shares her home with a beautiful fluffy cat, Kali.
Dr Sam Schultz BVSc
Sam's love of rabbits started at an early age when her parents finally gave into her begging for a pet rabbit. Growing up in country Victoria she was surrounded by a menagerie of animals that fostered her interest in Veterinary Science. She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2013, and started her career at a mixed practice in Bendigo, where she quickly gathered a following of loyal bunny clients. After 3 years in mixed practice Sam and her husband decided to move back to Melbourne, where she commenced working in a combined small animal general practice and emergency centre, before taking up a position at The Rabbit Doctors in 2017. Sam loves most small furry critters and is undertaking further studies in Feline Medicine. Sam's love of rabbit medicine evolved from wanting to provide the best care possible for her own rabbits. She currently has two buns that keep her busy at home, Snickers and Smudge, and 3 cats, Simba, Splash and Sorbet, who the rabbits love keeping in line. When not working, studying or looking after her own pets Sam enjoys travelling, group fitness, baking and eating to excess

Alina Chu CVN
Alina hails from Narrogin W.A, and her very first pet was a white bunny who she called Snow Princess. Ever since then she has loved bunnies and grew up dreaming to work in the veterinary industry. She lost her path a little when she went to university and studied a very different topic but came to her senses and became a vet nurse in 2012. Best decision ever. She moved to Melbourne and started working as a casual nurse at The Rabbit Doctors in 2019 and never looked back. Now she is a permanent part of the team half of the week and the other half working for her in-house cat grooming business.
